What to Talk to Girls About – Steps to Being a Great Conversationalist
We’ve all had moments when we were talking to a girl we liked. Were you so focused in getting her number that you can’t think of anything else? Did you stuck up? Did you choke? Did you run out of words to say? Was there moments of silence because you didn’t know what to talk to girls about? If your answer to these questions is yes then don’t despair, there are ways on how to make you a great conversationalist.
Initiating the Conversation
The first step in knowing what to talk to girls about is starting the conversation. For example, you see a girl you like and you really want to know more about her. The first thing you should do is to approach her and come up with a move that will get her attention.
The “move” can be anything you’ve used before or practiced to your friends and other ladies. It could be a one liner like “I’ve noticed you ever since you walked in and I won’t forgive myself if I didn’t even have the chance to talk to you.”
Don’t have the guts and the required smoothness to say that? I have a back up move for you.
Just say “hi”.
Women are attracted to confidence, not elaborate speeches on love and romance. The fact that you approached her is already a big deal. They see it as a huge compliment and trust me; a simple hello will flatter the hell out of her.
If she doesn’t act interested or tells you she doesn’t have time, move on dude. The next time you’ll say hi to a lady you’ll be smoother and look cooler. Don’t forget to smile.
The First Few Minutes
Wondering what to talk to girls about will not be a problem if you utilize the first few minutes well. At the start before you even talk to her, assess the situation. Is it raining outside? Are you in a crowded coffee place? Is she wearing an interesting shirt? Is she holding a book?
These things can be great questions to fuel up your conversation at this point. After the Hi’s, Hello’s, and name asking, follow up with a general question like the weather, or ask her about the book she’s holding.
Knowing what to talk to about to girls is like using guns. You need ammunition to fire. You don’t need to think too hard about great topics, just ask her some vague questions and work the conversation from there.
For example, “So you like reading?” then she answers with a “Yes”. Tell her about the last book you’ve read and how interesting it was, then ask her about what her favorite genres are. Keep getting “ammunition” from whatever she’s saying.
Let her talk, it will be easier for you if she talks more. Being a good conversationalist means you should listen more and be positive to what she says. If she tells you that the Harry Potter Series are the best books in the world, just nod and ask her why, never disagree on people you don’t know much about, they will feel offended.
Talking About Her Passions
Ever notice passionate people? They talk about ideas that move them on a personal level. The next step on knowing what to talk to girls about is digging deeper, its time to talk personal. After a few minutes of chit chat about the weather or her cute shoes, ask her about what her work is, or what she does in her free time.
Most women will talk about something they’re really proud of. If she opens up a topic like pet adoption or how great her career is, capitalize on that like crazy! Look very interested and just let her talk. Make her feel that you feel what she’s passionate about. If she asks you a question, answer honestly and tell her that you really see that she is a passionate person.
The Turn Around
At this point, you don’t even have to wonder what to talk to girls about because she has opened up to you. Once you have established that you are a great conversationalist, tell her that you’ve had a great time talking to her and if she wants, you can talk more over coffee.
Coffee is code for “I’m really interested in you and I want to have a romantic relationship with you”. If she says yes, you can go for coffee right away or ask for her number.
Your goal at this point is to let her know that you are really interested in her and you want things to go further. If she gives you her number or agrees to go out with you, kudos! You’ve just had a great conversation with a girl.
In the end, knowing what to talk to girls isn’t just about avoiding boring or awkward conversation. It’ll be when she decides if she has romantic interest towards you. If you could build rapport through the conversation and shows that you two “click” together, then there’s huge chance she’ll accept you.
